WADJDA (VECİDE)
written by Zeynep Gizem Emir

As we know, Saudi Arabia is one of the most conservative country all around the world. In fact, it will not be incorrect to say it is the most. Women do not take place in society as much that men have. During the movie, we see several scenes that our star Waad Mohammed resists against Saudi Arabia's unchallengable religious commands. For example, she is a friend of a boy, listens foreign songs, talks too loudly to be heard by a man, wants to ride a bicycle. She represents a girl against traditions. She does not wear a scarf, and she is never tired of being warned for not obeying religious rules. One day, she says that she wants to race against her male friend Abdullah and adds that she has to have a bike in order that her dreams come true. However, no matter how she tries, she cannot persuade her mother to have a bike. By the end of the film, she rides her friend's bike. Because her mother does not support her financially, she has to save money to get her own bike. She agrees with a toyseller so that he could not sell the bike she wants.
One secene is very moving there. Abdullah mounts two more wheel before Wadjda rides. When Wadjda sees her friend's caution, her pride is desperately wounded. But... Abdullah knows how he can make Wadjda happy. He goes and screws off them, also gives 5 rial and atones with her.

The movie is important because it inspires women not to obey every rule without hesitation. It depicts the environment, Also, it shows us that 10-year-old girls get married traditionally, which is totally unhealthy for the girl both physically and psychologically. I think this film makes an awesome statement. Every single person must watch. If you mind imdb ratings, it does not fail to meet this stringent criterion. Have a good time and do not forget to stay tuned !
